BBC iPlayer Help

Why must I sign in to a BBC account to use BBC iPlayer Radio?

Because without signing in, you‘ll be unable to play programmes or choose to benefit from programme recommendations based on what you’ve listened to. This affects all UK listeners. However, you won’t have to sign in every time you visit as you should stay signed in for two years on each web browser or app. Podcasts can be downloaded without signing in.

We need to understand more on what people are listening to ensure we are providing something for everyone. Up until now, we could only tell how many people used BBC iPlayer Radio, but having more data like age, gender and location will ensure we’re better serving all our audience.

You can read more about how we use your information at www.bbc.co.uk/usingthebbc/usingthebbc/privacy/privacy-promise/

Visit BBC account help for support. If you want to know more on why you have to sign in, read our blog by Andrew Scott, launch Director myBBC.
