Why am I no longer able to listen to my local BBC radio station through my Internet Radio device?

As a result of changes to RealMedia offering (see our Why am I no longer able to 'Listen Live' in BBC iPlayer to my local BBC radio station in RealMedia format? and Why can't I 'Listen Again' to BBC local radio programmes in Real Media format? FAQs), the streams are not available to listen to local BBC radio statios in the RealMedia format which may remain listed on your device.

Many devices are capable of playing our Windows Media streams as an alternative. However, we do attempt to work with many of the manufacturers of these devices, so you should find that the failing links in the device are updated.

The navigation and content offering on internet radios is controlled by their manufacturer - they control the support of formats and services that can be found on their device. The BBC makes every attempt, once we have evaluated their device offering, to provide them with information that allows them to offer the BBC Radio services to their customers. The BBC is, understandably, unable to provide support to you directly on these devices, and you must contact the manufacturer in the first instance.

Please note: You can listen live to your local BBC Radio station using the WMA format. However, listen again programming for local radio on internet radios and similar devices is currently unavailable due to a delay in delivering this content in WMA format. We're working to resolve this as soon as possible and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
