What is Live Restart?
Live Restart allows you to rewind and restart live programmes without waiting
for the programme to end.
How do I use the Live Restart feature on live BBC channel streams?
Simply select 'Restart the Current Programme' and to return to the live stream, select 'Live'.
Please note that Live Restart is currently only available on PC. We're working to enable similar functionality on other devices and also for radio listeners in due course.
Why doesn't the programme always start at the beginning?
Live Restart uses scheduled broadcast times as a reference to when a programme starts. However, as BBC programmes are subject to schedule changes, when you select 'Restart Current programme' the programme may
start slightly before or after its actual start.
We'll be looking to make this feature more accurate in a future update.
What about schedule changes?
In the rare event of a significant schedule change you can navigate to the beginning of the programme manually using the rewind/fast forward transport controls available on the media player.
How far can I rewind?
Live Restart has a limit of 2 hours, so it will not be possible to return to the
start of a programme that is already more than 2 hours into its duration.
