Accessing BBC World Service, Nations and Local Radio on demand on Apple and Android devices

We are pleased to confirm that live and on-demand World Service, Nations and Local Radio are now available on Apple products. However, apart from podcasts, audio on demand (or catch up) content from these stations is not currently available on Android devices.

The equipment used in our local radio and Nations studios is not currently capable of producing the digital assets we require for BBC iPlayer Radio on many connected devices, including those using the Android operating system. A significant project to resolve this is underway, including the provision and installation of new audio equipment in radio studios across the UK. Due to the scale of this work, it is likely to take some months to complete. Please bear with us.

On Android devices (4.0 and above), you can now listen to audio material and watch video clips on the BBC website by downloading the BBC Media Player app, which has been made available internationally in the Google Play store. Please install the app directly from the store or, if you are prompted to do so, when trying to access audio/video content on BBC websites.
