Why are some radio programmes not available?

To offer programmes on BBC iPlayer Radio, we have to acquire the relevant rights from the people who make and appear in them. Whilst the majority of programming from our BBC Radio stations is available to listen live or listen again, some types of programmes, particularly sporting events such as football matches, tennis tournaments etc, either can’t be offered on BBC iPlayer Radio or is restricted to listeners in the UK.
