**Response to enquiries/complaints about Newsnight (tx: 22/10/09) not being available on BBC iPlayer**

Thanks for your email regarding the edition of Newsnight broadcast on Thursday 22 October 2009 not being available on BBC iPlayer.

Occasionally we have to pull the programme due to copyright, editorial or legal issues. Frustratingly in this case the issue was resolved quickly, but the technology is not yet sophisticated enough to re-instate the programme once it has been pulled, nor can we pull only a single item. Hopefully these issues will all be resolved very soon. In the meantime, please accept our apologies.
