Can I watch a previously downloaded programme on my laptop when I'm abroad?
BBC iPlayer Desktop is designed for use within the UK.
However, some users report success if they do not connect to the internet when overseas as this means BBC iPlayer Desktop cannot check your location for assigning licences.
Windows users
You may wish to download the Windows Media Player version if available, using Internet Explorer to ensure you obtain the licence along with the download. This should ensure that you have a licence that will allow to play the programme abroad within seven days of downloading, even if you do connect to the internet.
