Why do I have a blank screen when trying to play downloads?

First, check that you are not currently downloading a programme. Downloading and writing to disk uses memory and in some cases this can cause this.

If the problem persists, complete a full uninstall of BBC iPlayer Desktop (including deleting the specified folders) and reinstall it:
