BBC iPlayer Parental Guidance provides a way to help you control your computer's access to Guidance-labelled content . If you turn on BBC iPlayer Parental Guidance your computer won't be able to access Guidance-labelled programmes unless you type in a password.
To turn on Parental Guidance Lock, go to the Parental Guidance Lock page.
You'll be asked for a password and email address. We ask for your email address so that we can email your password in case it is forgotten.
The BBC does not hold a copy of your email address, it's encrypted and stored on your computer in a BBC cookie.
Once turned on, you will always be prompted for your password if you wish to view any Guidance-labelled content.
Please note that Parental Guidance Lock doesn't work in Macintosh OSX 10.4 with Safari 1.3.2.
